Amiga Raspberry Pi Drive adapter to simulate up to 4 floppy drives on a classic Amiga computer
This item does not come with an actual Raspberry Pi single board computer. It has to be sourced elsewhere.
(successfully tested Pi 1 model A+ and Pi Zero, others may work as well)
Unlike other floppy drive emulators this one can handle up to 4 drives simultaneously.
ADF/ADZ files with 880/1760kB capacity can be put on the Pi's SD card. Most games and demos will work fine.
For the standard operation mode, two momentary normally open (NO) pushbuttons are required. These are not included and have to be sourced elsewhere, as user-demand on design and quality differs greatly. This adapter also supports the addition of a rotary encoder by using the “Video version” of the software.
All required software is freely available for download. Links will be provided on a printed sheet.
A standard 4-wire power connection such as used for floppy drives is required (the 12V wire is not used). Additionally the original 34-wire floppy ribbon cable can be used (optional order). For the operation of 4 virtual drives, additional wires may have to be connected to the external floppy drive port of the Amiga or directly to the CIA chip.
